Umm.... is this thing on??? Ugh!!!! Oh!

Well, hello there! My name is Josiah, but you can call me Shubu, and this is a blog dedicated to the production of my very first animated short film series, drumroll please................. CHATTY & BATTY!

Please ignore the whole Studio Mac thing, at least for now.... this short was concived back around mid to late 2024-ish.... while I was working on a certain other project I will not mention here for..... reasons.

Originally the series was to start out with a small falling out over a video game, but... after getting over some major personal issues I will not mention, I decided to start anew with a new "pilot" script.

I can't show it to you yet, but... I promise you, it'll knock your socks off! I also have a few more episodes planned, but I need to do this one first....

I think it would be a good time to introduce our leading food service testers! (I wish I was making that up.... ;)

MEET CHATTY EXTRAPLICIOUS:

Chatty is the "over the top" half of the duo. Always pranking his fellow co-workers, chowing down on some good ol' hamburgers, but most of all, he always makes sure to help his best friend out in return! And he's the most outlandish too! He loves catnip drink mix.

And then there's Batty:

Batty Extraplicious, or Batty Yourmaskin-Haskiguchi, as he used to be called before he changed his name to "better up" his relationship, is the more "chilled out" of the pair. But that shouldn't let his simple personality fool you. He can multitask, do work superfast, and even speak some foreign languages! I would like to think of him kinda like Filburt from Rocko's Modern Life or Clam from Camp Lazlo, but more chill.

And no, THEY ARE NOT BROTHERS OR GAY BY ANY MEANS!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried.

Recently I also wrote another ep. script! The second ep I'm planning on doing is called "No-More-Burger-A" where Chatty and Batty try to celebrate National Hamburger Day, but they fail at it. Also Burger-A, the biggest burger place in all of Owodon and their favorite burger place closed down. Now I'm on my third episode: "Trouble Aboard the Owodon Express". I don't know the overall plot yet, but I know it does involve a train ride.

Other episode ideas I have include "Hold it Batty" where Batty wins a root beer drinking contest but really needs to pee so Chatty tries to stop him in all sorts of ways, "Chatty and the Colorless Cafeteria" where Chatty debates himself over painting a well in the cafeteria (that being the cafeteria of the food equipment manfacturing company they work for, Yellow Eagle Harvest Food Equipment Manufacturing OEM Co. Ltd.), and "Camp Chatty", where Chatty decided to open up a kids' summer camp out of sheer boredom, but something always goes wrong, which leads to Batty opening up his own camp, starting a camp rivalry.

I'll get to writing those eps after I finish this one. The shorts may wary anywhere from 4 to 7 mins., but we'll see about that sometime soon. Next step: storyboards! Then it's off to voice recording, design, animatic editing, background keys, music (I think?), sheet timing, and eventually, animation. About the animation, well... I have been thinking of doing it in another country like your average animated TV series on the likes of Nickelodeon, the Disney Channel, and the Cartoon Network (you know, when they outsource the actual animation to studios in what, Seoul, Korea or something?). Or we could try doing it completely in-house with a small team of animators. Who knows? But we'll see.

Um... I think I ran out of stuff to say but... there will be more updates eventually, I promise.
